When considering the short-term cost and long-term benefits of braces, it’s important to remember that:
- People with straight, well-aligned teeth and a healthy bite can avoid gum disease, which has very serious health ramifications.
- Properly aligned jaws and a healthy bite can reduce the risk of jaw joint disorders, which can ruin sleep or cause chronic headaches or migraines.
- Both kids and adults with great smiles feel better about themselves, increasing their confidence and sustaining their mental and emotional well-being.
- Adults with straight teeth are 45% more likely to get a job than someone with similar qualifications and crooked teeth.

Why your bite may affect the cost of your treatment
There’s more to braces and Invisalign than just straightening teeth . . . we also want to give you a healthy bite for life.
Not only will a healthy bite look better, it will also ensure your teeth stay straight and will help avoid future tooth damage and jaw problems.
As you can in the pricing table, the cost of braces or Invisalign will increase by $500 if bite correction is needed.
So, what is bite correction and why does it cost more?
If you or your child has any of the bite problems below:
- Overbite
- Deep Bite
- Underbite
- Crossbite
- Impacted Teeth
- Severe Crowding
…there’s a good chance that bite correction will be needed.
Properly correcting a bad bite is more complicated, it requires more office visits, and generally takes more time.
Bite correction will often require an orthodontic appliance in addition to the braces or Invisalign. A bite correction appliance might include an expander, forsus springs, a herbst appliance, a TAD, or any number of appliances.
To ensure our patients get the best outcomes and a healthy stable bite, our pricing for bite corrections allows for more treatment time, more visits, and all additional appliances to ensure proper bite correction.
Just straightening teeth and not correcting a bad bite can lead to…
- Future jaw joint problems
- Tooth damage
- Teeth that look too protrusive
- An unstable bite that leads to your teeth getting crooked again
This means that you may end up getting braces a second time to fix what was missed before…
We believe that it’s ALWAYS better to do it right the first time and only do it once!
